“Advanced Care and End-of-Life Planning:  What You Need to Know and How to Talk about It.”   A six-week workshop coming in early 2025, in partnership with Danielle Burke, Hospice Nurse and End-of-Life Doula.

This workshop is for anyone who would like to learn more about a challenging topic:  people living with chronic illness and considering care plan and treatment goals; anyone making sense of a terminal diagnosis and considering the value of hospice care; adult children supporting parents who are aging-in-place; caregivers, medical professionals, friends, and family members who want to better support people approaching end-of-life.

End-of-Life Advanced Care Planning

The workshop will offer participants opportunity to learn and talk about EOL advanced-care planning, including:

  • Advanced Directives:  What to pre-plan for, before you need it

  • Where death takes place and related costs:  SNFs, ALFs, and dying at home

  • Roles and Responsibilities:  Family, Caregivers, and Supportive Services

  • The Dying Process:  what to expect over last months, weeks, and days of life

  • After Care:  Cremation & Burial, Memorials & Funerals, Coping with Loss

  • Existential & Spiritual Considerations:  Taking Good Care of Yourself
